Admission Procedure

Higher Secondary Certificate / Senior Secondary Certificate results are generally declared around first week of May every year. Admissions for UG Programme commence immediately thereafter, as per the norms prescribed by the State Government of Tamil Nadu and Periyar University, Salem. Applications for UG and PG Programmes are issued from the third week of April. Admissions may also be sought by online mode.

Selection Procedure for Admissions to UG / PG Programmes

Admissions for UG and PG programmes are made in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Director of collegiate Education for the academic year and the reservation policy of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu. Guidelines of Periyar University with regard to the minimum qualification and student strength are adhered to.

Admissions Committee

A Committee consisting of two Senior most Professors and one Senior Professor from the SC/ST Community along with the Principal form the Admission Committee to admit Students under the UG/ PG programmes.

Confirmation of Admission

When the Admissions Committee confirms the admission to the Candidate to a UG/PG programme, the Candidate is expected to pay the Semester Fee prescribed along with the following.

Originals of the documents at the time of Interview

4 passport size colour photographs (recent)

Payment of Fee

Admission is confirmed only on payment of the fee.

Do not send original certificates by post while submitting filled-in applications forms.

Differently - Abled

Differently – abled students are admitted in all the programmes under the quota allotted for them.

Sports Personnel / Wards of Ex-Service men/ Srilankan Repataiated

As per the regulations of Govt. of Tamil Nadu, sports persons are admitted in various programmes under a separate quota allotted for them. Wards of ex-service men and Srilankan repatriates have separate quota in the admission.

UG Regulations :

With regard to the UG admissions, a rank list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Examinations, Community, Nativity, and Extra Curricular activities etc. and forwarded to the College Admissions Committee. Selection lists are released progressively and put up on the College Notice Board with the simultaneous dispatch of interview cards of the selected candidates. Physically Challenged persons, Sports persons, Wards of the Defense Personnel and Srilankan repatriates are given due considerations as per the regulations of Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

Community Certificate,

Any other certificate for claiming benefit in admission under different quota like Sports, Cultural Activities, Physically handicapped, Freedom Fighter etc.

PG Regulations :

With regard to the PG Admissions, each department forms its own Committee (HoD and a Staff Member) scrutinize the applications received for admissions. Based on the marks in the qualifying examinations, Community, Nativity, Extra Curricular activities etc. a rank list is prepared and forwarded to the College Admissions Committee. Selection lists will be released progressively and displayed on the Notice Board with simultaneous dispatch of the interview Cards under the Certificate of Posting to the selected candidates. The Principal along with the Admissions Committee and the HoD interviews the Candidates and completes the admissions procedures. Physically Challenged persons, Sports persons, Wards of the Defence personnel and Srilankan Repatriates are given due considerations as per the regulations of Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
